The usually dry creek earns its keep
We finally got a dumper of a storm—our rain gauge measured an inch and a half of rain on Wednesday! Lighting, hail, wind, the works. This is a view of our creekbed from the dry comfort of the bedroom window. (Note the tall pokeweed just behind the boulder.) Imagine the muddy mess we suffered with before we built this last spring! While it would be nice to store this rain to use in the garden, you can see that the volume of water rushing down the creek during a storm is immense. I can’t imagine the size of the cistern we’d need (and I shudder to even consider the cost!). More Photos
