Grosbeaks in Sanford *Updated*

Brian from Sanford, NC, (edge of the Piedmont, yo!) sent in these pics of rose-breasted grosbeaks that stopped at his platform feeder last week. These were new birds for Brian, and when he IDed them with his trusty National Geographic field guide, he realized they weren’t locals. Donna from Timberlake, NC, got a fantastic up-close look at a migrating male rose-breasted grosbeak on May 9. Well, technically her husband got this shot, but they’ve both seen RBGs at their place this spring. (Read Donna’s account of this sighting.)
