Black Vultures, Black Cows

Over at the Chinqua Penn walking trail, massive numbers of vultures are milling around with the black heifers and their calves. Typically I see maybe one black vulture for every 10 or so turkey vultures, but lately it’s more of a 50/50 split. These are black vultures in this photo.

Tuesday afternoon brought more than a chilly breeze—it also brought a massive swarm of turkey vultures over our house.
