Happy and Tito are Friends

Happy loves to run, and Tito loves trying to keep up with her. For a dog with short legs, he does an admirable job of keeping up. Happy, after all, has a reputation for being the fastest dog of them all, but I think she does a fair amount of sandbagging for Tito’s sake. Tito also loves being sprayed by the hose, so he’s usually a flying wet mop, as in this pic.

When the dogs aren’t running, they’re toddling around the yard looking for good sticks and chunks of clay to chew. Outside, Happy’s in charge and Tito happily trails after her. Inside, Tito asserts himself more while Happy tries to remain tolerant of his big personality. Overall Happy’s the boss dog, but like a good boss, she’s fairly laid-back about her position and gives Tito time to feel empowered. That said, I’m reading a book on dog training by some monks in upstate New York with the goal of getting Tito more in my control instead of Happy’s.
Props to Josh for these photos, by the way. I’m contractually obligated to give him credit.
