Junco Pic Makes the GBBC Gallery!

February 20th, 2008 · 2 Comments

This is the second year I’ve submitted photos to the Great Backyard Bird Count photo gallery. Last year, none of my shots were chosen, which I admit was a bummer for a competitive nut like me. This year, however, my slouching dark-eyed junco made the cut! See it here in all it’s glory! Woohoo!

Awesome pics as usual and definitely prize-worthy. I didn’t submit any to the GBBC this year …. the lighting was horrific that weekend. Figured I’d leave it to the expert! Good luck & Hi to HJ. Still looking for ACEOs to go with the WBNU. (NOT! rbnu …….. still looking for them to return without success. At least the PISI showed up!)

Thanks Amy! The lighting here was terrible most of the weekend, too. Got lucky with a very brief sunny moment on this one. Of course the best shot ever was the pine warbler in the snow-covered blooming red maple–one day before the GBBC!

HJ’s been so busy with his job and hasn’t had nearly enough time to work on his tiny art. That’s about to change, though, once he starts his new job in a couple of weeks.
