In migration

September 5th, 2007 · No Comments

Josh and I (as well as young Happy and elder Lucy) have migrated to our new house and are deep in the throes of buying stuff most people take for granted but are deeply mysterious to us. You know, things like lawn mowers, sheds, and window blinds. Apparently that stuff doesn’t take care of itself like it seems to in apartment complexes.  Even cable and Internet connections have to be dealt with—you’re only reading this because of some tenuous miracle beaming out of the ether, as the cable guy won’t visit us till Friday.

In the meantime, fall migration is upon us, so you’re better off getting out there and looking for warblers as they leave Canada and fly south. There have been many reports this week of awesome warbler fallouts in North Carolina. I don’t have time to find them, but you do. Get outside!

Me, I’m about to look at this lawn mower we just bought. Have I mentioned that I have never, ever mowed a lawn? Scary.
