American Goldfinches and Northern Cardinals are frequent visitors to this beautiful tree. There’s a feeder just behind them that’s popular with the neighborhood Goldfinches.
Now that temperatures are back in the 70s and 80s, the Painted Turtles have emerged from hibernation and are basking on logs again. Our Mute Swans, which have begun nesting, can’t resist checking them out.

Enjoyed you photos, I have never personally seen a Mute Swan, only on T.V. Is this a Male or Female Mute Swan? What a beautiful picture, it should be entered in a contest. Bird Watcher’s Digest, I believe is running a Photo contest right now, I’ll have to check, and get back to you on BOAF.
Keep snapping those pixs, you do great photography.

Thanks for your kind words! I’m a real newbie when it come to photography and really appreciate the encouragement. This is a male Mute Swan. In this photo he’s cruising over to do his intimidating busking display at me. His mate (not in the pic) is sitting on a nest of eggs on the other side of the pond, which makes him quite aggressive. And he’s huge. My motto: Respect the swans.
